Advanced mode activates when you do a level the 2nd time. It makes you complete the level three times in a row. (Three Playthroughs) When you begin a replay you can't use items you have used in previous playthroughs. If you quit you will have to start the playthroughs over again. This feature returns in Super Scribblenauts, but only on certain levels. Completing a level in Advanced Mode earns you the "Replay" award while completing all levels this way earns you "Full Replay" (Only in Super Scribblenauts).

Scribblenauts[]

Advanced Mode is activated anytime you replay a level you've already completed. Once you complete this level, It will restart automatically. However, when the level restarts, you may not use any object you wrote before. Complete the level three times in a row to master the level in advanced mode. If you exit before the three times, you will have to restart from the beginning of Advanced Mode next time.

Super Scribblenauts[]

In Super Scribblenauts there is also a challenge Note how not all levels have crowns on them

Constellation 1 as seen inside

Constellation 1. Note how not all levels have crowns on them.

available. It is largely similar to the advanced mode in Scribblenauts. In this one you must complete the level three times, and it only applies to certain levels:

  1. For basic completion. Awards: Next Level, Ollars.
  2. Gives you a silver crown. Awards: Ollars.
  3. Gives you the gold crown. Awards: Ollars, Fully completed level.

However, like in Scribblenauts you must use different objects and adjectives each time you replay in one go.

Trivia[]

  • If you mastered the level and do the level again, Advanced Mode does not activate.
  • In Scribblenauts, you CAN use items you have used before by typing a random letter, the space button, then the item you want. However, this is considered cheating by many fans, and was fixed in both the Japanese release and in the Scribblenauts Collection.
    • This trick doesn't work if you misspell a word, as it will still tell you that the word you chose was already used after choosing the correct spelling in the suggestions menu.
    • This trick doesn't work if you use the letter S and try to spawn wings, as it will instead spawn a swing, due to the synonym swings.
  • In Scribblenauts, "wing" and "wings" are treated as the same word and cannot be used multiple times in Advanced Mode. This is presumably because the Objectnaut engine treats them as the same word, due to both "wing" and "wings" spawning the same object, whereas future games changed it so that "wing" gives you a single wing.
