A Biplane is an early type of plane with two pairs of wings, one above the other.
The original biplane gliders were designed to grant stiffness and resistance to the structure whilst granting lightweight,with the counter of having a higher drag thus flying slower and having a lower stall speed.
The first successful motorized biplane,the Wright flyer,was flown in December the 17th 1903.
