The Black Hole is an incredibly dense object. Its gravity so strong, it pulls in and completely destroys everything around it.

Appearance

The black hole object appears as a dark purple swirl with a black circle in its center. In Scribblenauts Unlimited, the swirl is a particle, the actual object being just a black circle.

Behavior

In Scribblenauts, the black hole will pull in any object placed near it and destroy it, including the player.

In Super Scribblenauts and Scribblenauts Remix, it simply destroys the level, similar to a nuke.

In Scribblenauts Unlimited and all later games, the black hole once again functions as it does in Scribblenauts, drawing in and destroying objects (except for those too large to fit inside it). If an indestructible object is pulled into a black hole, it will hover in place in the center.

Trivia

  • The black hole appears on the Starite mission Danger: Black Hole! at Kana Craters in Scribblenauts Unlimited.
  • In Unlimited, selecting a cat while holding bread or toast and pressing “Use” will result in the cat transforming into a black hole. This is a reference to the cat-toast paradox, a joke paradox popular in pop culture. (The “paradox” states that cats always land on their feet and toast always lands buttered-side down, so dropping a cat with buttered toast on its back creates an impossible situation.)
