Trivia[]
- The word 'capital' refers to capital letters used at the beginning of sentences or proper nouns. It's also a play on "Capitol" which is a city that functions as the seat of government.
- Capital City connects to more areas then any other level in the game.
- The door to Punctuation Plaza only works in the Wii U version of the game, despite the plaza also being available in Scribblenauts Mega Pack. As a result, the map must be used to enter the plaza in that version of the game.
- The door within Punctuation Plaza that leads to Capital City still continues to work in the Mega Pack.
- Syntax Station can be exited from the bottom to enter Capital City from the sky. Syntax Station cannot be entered in the opposite direction, however.
- Giving the Lonely Cockroach a second cockroach causes them to spawn a swarm of extra cockroaches. This isn't tied to a starite shard, however.
- The "King Me!" shard is a reference to King Kong.
- The "King Me!" shard can be completed with checkers, which is a reference to the game of the same name.
- The "It's a Bird! shard is a reference to the Superman phrase "It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!".
- The soundtrack incorporates elements from the original Scribblenauts main theme.
- The exterior of St. Asterisk seen in Capital city depicts the logo of the Red Cross, which is a logo protected by international law and the Geneva Conventions.
- Use of the Red Cross in games is seen sometimes in indie games. However, this use of it is incorrect and not allowed, even for medical purposes.[1]
- Game Developers that mistakenly use the Red Cross are typically required to change or remove the logo after including it via an update or later revision. However, it's possible the Red Cross Organization is unaware of the use of it's logo in Scribblenauts, as the logo has remained in every game to date.
