Coins are a collectable item from the Super Mario franchise. They often serve as a currency of sorts, rewarding extra lives for every 100 coins collected, but their exact use can typically vary depending on the game. They appear as Guest Objects in the Wii U and European 3DS versions of Scribblenauts Unlimited.

They have 20 HP.

Like other Nintendo guest objects, Coins cannot have adjectives applied to them, and cannot be edited with the Object Editor.

Behavior[]

When the player touches a coin, it flies up into the air and disappears in a similar animation to collecting a coin in the Mario series. The sound of collecting a coin is also heard when this happens.

Mario and Luigi will try to collect any coins they see. When they collect coins they just pick them up like normal items, though they still make the sound effect and disappear afterwards.

When Coins are picked up by anybody that isn't Mario, Luigi, or the Player, they don't make a sound effect and don't disappear, and function like ordinary objects.

Unlike several coins in the Mario series, coins are affected by gravity, and cannot be made to float in the air.

The Nintendo characters able to be given Coins are Mario, Luigi, Toads, Peach, Yoshis, Goombas, Link, Zelda, Sheik, Beedle, Gorons, Dark Link, and Ganondorf.
