Cthulhu is a large, winged creature. It is a reference to a fictional cosmic entity created by horror author H.P. Lovecraft, which first appeared in the book "Call of the Cthulhu"
Known Behavior
Cthulhu will automatically attack all NPCs and Maxwell on sight. It can be affected by taming weapons (Dart gun, Cupid Arrow, etc.) Cthulhu has poor offense, mainly due to its speed attack. Despite its poor offense, Cthulhu bolsters a strong defense, and is able to defend up to 2 rockets. It will not attack a Shoggoth, Shambler , or objects with "Lovecraftian" as an adjective.
Trivia
- In the first Shoreline level of Scribblenauts, if you move the camera all the way down right under the island, you can see a Cthulhu swimming near the ocean floor, which may be the reason that you're escaping the island.
- Although it has wings, it cannot fly. If you equip a flying item (e.g. Wings) to Maxwell and take flight while riding Cthulhu, it will flap its wings. In Super Scribblenauts, it can fly like any other animal with wings.
- You will not get the merit water jockey even if you swim with it.
- Like Megalodon, after taming it and riding on a Cthulhu and tap on a object, the attack button doesn't appear.
- In older games, if you equip it with an item such as a diving mask, the mask will be on its head instead of on the face.
- Cthulhu appears in the Scribblenauts Unlimited Objects Editor Trailer appearing as a clown with pink angel wings replacing his actual wings. Scribblenauts Unlimited Obvjects Editor Trailer
