Dark Link is a boss in the Legend of Zelda series, and appears as a guest object exclusive to the Wii U and European 3DS versions of Scribblenauts Unlimited. As the name implies, they are a dark, evil, replica of Link, and are often one of the hardest enemies in the game.
Dark link has identical stats to Link, but attacks Zelda series protagonists.
Despite being a Zelda boss, Dark Link is considered a neutral NPC. He will ignore the player and all non-Zelda NPCs unless he is directly provoked.
Even though Dark Link did not appear in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, his design in Scribblenauts is based on Link's appearance from that game, which was done to mirror Link. Features such as the all-black body and angry red eyes are common on other iterations of Dark Link however.
Trivia[]
- The Wind Waker design of Link appears in the game Super Smash Bros. series under the name "Toon Link". Toon Link has an alternate costume in the series based on Dark Link that looks almost identical to the Dark Link seen in Scribblenauts.
- Despite being meant to be an exact replica of link, Dark Link cannot equip the Hylian Shield like Link can.
- Dark Link being an evil replica of Link parallels Doppelganger and Maxwell.
- Dark Link is the only Nintendo villain that cannot be killed using a Super Star.
