Edgar is the father of Maxwell and Lily introduced in Scribblenauts Unlimited. He used to be an adventurer.
About[]
Edgar was once one of the world's greatest adventurers. However, he was rivaled by Julie, and the two always competed on every adventure they had together. On one adventure, Edgar proposed to Julie to the top of a lost pyramid by planting an engagement ring for her to find. After they married, Edgar and Julie semi-retired to start a family. They continued growing their family until they had forty-two children; forty-one sons and one daughter.

| At one point Edgar was concerned about Maxwell and Lily growing up to be spoiled, so he sent them off on a journey. Edgar then tested the two, disguising himself as an Old Man and asking for food to see if they help. When Maxwell pranks the disguised Edgar by giving him a rotten apple, Edgar uses a magic cane to start turning Lily to stone. Later, after Lily's curse is broken by the power of Maxwell's good deeds, Edgar returns and himself to have been the old man. |

Edgar is shown to care for his family, and spends time with them doing family activities such as games.
Appearance[]
Edgar has a dark brown beard and mustache combo. He wears a fedora with three stubs at the top, this being his Rooster Helmet. His clothes are rather simple; he wears a brown coat and pants with a dickie in the coat.
Behavior[]
Unlimited[]
In Scribblenauts Unlimited, Edgar cannot be spawned normally. He only appears once per save file on Edwin's Farm after the player beats the game, and is holding his cane. Both Edgar and his cane do no reappear if the player kills him, resets the level, or otherwise loses him, and can be permanently lost if the player isn't careful. If the player would like to create him later without glitches, he can be cloned using a Cloning machine and stored in the Magic Packpack.
Edgar can also be created using the The "@" Method glitch to spawn "@Edgar".
Edgar is an unlockable as an avatar in Scribblenauts Unlimited as well, and is unlocked once the player collects every Starite in the game. This requires 106 starites in most versions, but 112 in the Mega Pack due to the additional levels.
Unmasked[]
Edgar functions exactly the same in Scribblenauts Unmasked. Like Unlimited, he can be created using the "@" Method to spawn an "@Edgar".
Showdown[]
In Scribblenauts Showdown, Edgar can now be spawned normally without the need of the "@" symbol. He will follow his other family members while expressing the 
emotion, similar to Maxwell's Brothers in the previous games.
Trivia[]
- One can play as Edgar in the Wii U version with only 60 Starites if they tap Edgar, and click Edit Object.
- In the final cutscene, it shows that Edgar's hat is a separate piece from his rooster helmet.
- In Scribblenauts Unmasked, if the player turns Lily evil and spawns Scarecrow, there is a chance of Edgar spawning with a new Lily and turning her to stone without his cane.
- Edgar is one very few members of Maxwell's family whose mouth is not visible, sharing this trait with Tots and Captain Ferdinand.
- Edgar has an uncanny resemblance to the father of Indiana Jones, Henry Jones Sr. This is further backed up by the fact that he is an adventurer.
- Edgar received an updated sprite in Scribblenauts Showdown, which later reappeared in the release of Scribblenauts Unlimited within the Scribblenauts Mega Pack.
- The Mega Pack release of Scribblenauts Unmasked still uses his original sprite, though.
