An Emu is a large brown bird that lives in the Australian savannahs. Emus can be ridden as well. Just like Ostrich, Kiwi, and Elephant Bird, it is part of the order of flightless birds known as Ratites.

Bird Watchers will show no interest in them.

  • The synonym Moa is a reference to a bird that used to live in New Zealand before being wiped out by man. The Moa is extinct, and would have resembled the similarly gigantic and related Elephant Bird of Madagascar.
  • The synonyms Rhea and Nandu are a reference to a bird that lives in South America, mainly gray in-color, known in Spanish as Ñandú. The Rhea is smaller than the Emu.
