Guest Objects are items or characters belonging to fictional worlds other than Scribblenauts included in Scribblenauts games as a special gesture from third parties.
Scribblenauts (Japanese version)[]
In Japan, Konami published Scribblenauts instead of WB (The publishers of the US and EU versions.) Because they had the Japanese Intellectual Property, they were able to add characters from various Konami franchises into the game. Several of them have unique behaviors and interactions, based on their original series.

Just like the original game, Super Scribblenauts was published by Konami instead of WB in Japan. As such, the Konami items from the previous entry returned, though no new ones were added.
Super Scribblenauts removed the Metal Gear items that were previously in Scribblenauts, as they clashed with the game's new adjective system. Ebisumaru was also removed for unknown reasons.

Scribblenauts Unlimited (Wii U and European 3DS Versions)[]

The October 17 announcement
Scribblenauts Unlimited on Wii U contains items and characters from Nintendo's Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda series, potentially as a special launch game incentive for the console. Special interactions have also been programmed between characters and items. For example Link will use the Ocarina to summon Epona and ride her, and Mario will attack Bowser.
European 3DS versions of Scribblenauts Unlimited have access to the Nintendo items as well, unlike the 3DS version seen in other regions. This is due to the European release being delayed twice, giving 5th cell more time to add the items into the game.
Nintendo objects are subject to several restrictions. Notably, adjectives cannot be used on them, though both Super from the Super Mushroom, as well as Yoshi's colors are exceptions to this. Secondly, Nintendo objects can only interact with specified items, and generally do not interact with objects that they were not explicitly coded to. Additionally, for several objects players are limited to only spawning one of them in a level at any given time. This applies mainly to one-of-a-kind objects such as Mario or the Master Sword, and not to objects that there are multiple of, such as Goombas or Rupees. Finally, Nintendo items also cannot be used in the Object Editor. The Tanuki and Frog Suits are exceptions to all of these rules, and are treated as standard items in this regard.

North American and Australian 3DS Versions[]
Despite being on a Nintendo system, the deal with Nintendo was made late in Unlimited's development. By the time the deal was made the US and Australian 3DS versions were already in production, which started earlier as cartridges take longer to produce than discs. Due to this, these versions of the game lack the Nintendo characters.
The Tanuki Suit and Frog Suit items appear in all versions of the game however, as they were already implemented and planned to be included as Easter Eggs before the deal with Nintendo was made.
PC, Mobile, Mega Pack Versions[]
The Nintendo objects are not found in other versions of the game, likely because a contract was made preventing Nintendo's intellectual properties in Scribblenauts from appearing on non-Nintendo systems. This also applies to the Nintendo Switch version of the Scribblenauts Mega Pack, which instead is likely due to the rights to use the Nintendo characters expiring, and Shiver Entertainment not renewing them.
However, the Tanuki Suit and Frog Suit still continue to work as an easter egg in every version of the game.
Scribblenauts Unmasked[]
Scribblenauts Unmasked is centered primarily on the concept of a crossover between Scribblenauts and the DC Comics universe. As such, the guest objects moved away from being a minor cameo to the main spotlight, with over 2,000 DC Guest Objects being present in the game.
Trivia[]
- The inclusion of Nintendo characters was 5TH Cell's idea, with Shigeru Miyamoto providing input on how the characters could be implemented in the game.[1]
- More Nintendo characters were planned (such as Pokemon, Donkey Kong and Metroid), but the Nintendo deal was made too close to Unlimited's release to add any more in than what was included. This is also why there are no Nintendo-themed locations in the game.[1]
- There is technically one Pokémon in Unlimited, but it's based on a 4chan meme character that's not actually from the series
- The Frog and Tanuki Suits were seen implemented in an E3 demo of Unlimited before the deal with Nintendo was made.
- It was suggested in a Reddit AMA that the Nintendo characters could be added back into the North American 3DS version in a future patch/update but it never happened.[2]
- The @Yarn End found using the "@" Method glitch is likely an unfinished Nintendo object, intended to be a ? Block from the Super Mario series.
- It notably wasn't removed with the other Nintendo Objects, and remains even in the Scribblenauts Mega Pack.[1]
