Haetae is a creature from Chinese and Korean mythology. It's naturally protective of Maxwell and other people/NPCs straight after spawning, and it's also rideable.
Being a fire-eating dog in Chinese Mythology, in Scribblenauts the Haetae will eat fire as well (it can also eat flaming swords.) The Haetae will occasionally roll over if unattended, even if Maxwell's riding it, and will attack hostile people and animals.
He eats almost anything that has fire or is on fire, no matter what size or shape. So for example, he can eat a volcano despite it being much larger than him. When he eats something that is on fire or has fire, he will eat the entire thing, not just the flame. He can still take damage from fire, even though fire is edible to him. He cannot eat the fire that comes from flamethrowers or anything that resembles fire. He will follow you around if you are carrying some that has fire such as a match, lighter or torch, and he will even eat said items even if the flame is washed away or removed. If he eats a building, he will not eat the things that are inside of the building but rather, they pop out of the building when Haetae is done eating it.
