Kappa is a Japanese water monster.  It is one of the many creatures that can spawn from a portal. If you give a kappa a cucumber, it will eat it. If in Super Scribblenauts, a kappa will attain the friendly adjective after eating a cucumber. This is a reference to how a Japanese myth says that Kappas love cucumbers and will befriend any humans who give one to them. Kappas are also interested in fish, although this reason might be because of the fact is is said to live in rivers. Kappas are hostile towards people and other monsters, however there are few monsters that they do not become hostile towards. In Scribblenauts Unlimited, kappas are friendly and are not hostile, except when they come out of portals (at least in the 3DS version). Kappas are afraid of fire so if the player holds or place any fire related objects, they will run away. They would steal anything like fruits and apple, but won't pick up anything fruity.

Female Variant

Kappa

A female has longer hair and wears a torn green shirt.
