The Mean Old Man is the main antagonist of Scribblenauts Unlimited, he transforms Lily into stone to teach the two siblings a lesson.

Behavior[]

The player can spawn this character as an object via the @ method. However, because it was only meant to be used in a cutscene, he doesn't interact with any other object in-game.

He defends himself when attacked, however most hostile creatures are indifferent towards him. He spawns equipping a magic cane.

About[]

When going to the city, Maxwell and Lily meet a hungry old man that asks them for food. Maxwell and Lily, wanting to prank the old man, give a rotten apple to him.

The angered old man curses Lily and calls the siblings "spoiled little kids" and curses Lily, slowly turning her into stone. Maxwell takes her to Edwin's farm, where Edwin informs them that The only way to the break the curse is by collecting the Starites.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead - Continue at the risk of your own enjoyment.

After collecting 60 Starites, the player will go back to Edwin's Farm to rescue his sister. However the Starite seems to do nothing, making Maxwell desperate.

In the last minute the Mean Old Man reappears, breaks Lily's curse and reveals himself to be Edgar. He was teaching them a lesson on how hard life can be, even with magical powers.
