Medieval Mayhem is a Wordy mini-game in Scribblenauts Showdown.

Object of the game[]

In this game, each player must attempt to defeat the competing player in combat by reducing their hearts to zero. Choosing a powerful weapon at the start of the game makes it easier to do this, but players are free to use each other’s weapons.

Stage[]

The game is set in a castle-like arena with many platforms. The arrangement of the platforms is symmetrical. There are two doors on the stage that the player can travel between.

Gameplay[]

The game’s controls are simple. Players can move, jump, attack, and travel through doors. They can also aim some types of attacks using the joystick.

The player can instantly pick up a weapon by walking over it. This causes them to drop their current weapon if they are holding one.

When a player presses the attack button while unarmed, they will throw a punch. If they press it while holding a melee weapon, they will swing the weapon. If they are holding a ranged weapon, they will fire one shot. Some ranged weapons can fire continuously if the button is held. If the player is holding an object that cannot be used to attack or fire projectiles, they will throw the object.

A player can land on and bounce off of their opponent’s head, briefly stunning them and forcing them to drop their weapon (if any). It is possible to repeatedly bounce on a player’s head.

If the player falls from a high enough height, their avatar will fall over and they will be stunned for about five seconds.

Object mechanics[]

Summonable objects[]

The list of objects that can be chosen as weapons in this game includes actual weapons and most other objects that can be attacked with or thrown. The list does not include living objects or any objects that cannot be picked up by a player (with a few exceptions).

Because the wheel that is spun to determine the first letter of the weapons does not include uncommon letters like X and Z, words that start with these letters (such as “zanbato”) cannot be summoned unless the game is played with a Wild Card in Party mode.
