Merits

Merits are achievements earned by completing levels under certain conditions. There are 76 Merits total in Scribblenauts, 60 in Super Scribblenauts, and 25 achievements in Scribblenauts Unlimited (on Wii U and Steam).

Scribblenauts[]

Merits here are listed in the order they appear in on the Merits screen under the Options menu. The vast majority of these merits award 10 Ollars to the player.

	Knight School	Slay a dragon with a melee weapon.	Use melee weapons such as sword to slay a dragon. The best way to obtain this merit would be to write a dragon then attacking it with a flaming sword. You can also use projectile weapons for weakening the dragon before death. There is also one level^{[clarification needed]} with enough space above a dragon where you may simply drop a sharp object on it until it dies.	10 Ø
	Electrolysis	Shock someone with electricity.	Attach a battery to a man using a wire, or strike anything with thunder.	10 Ø

	Jockey	Use an animal as a vehicle.	Spawn a Horse, then ride it.	10 Ø
	Joust	Defeat a Knight while Maxwell is mounted.	Spawn a Horse with a Saddle, spawn a Knight, and a Lance. Ride the horse, equip the lance, and kill the knight with it.^{[note 1]} It may not be possible to attack the knight on the Scribblenauts Collection version unless your control scheme is set to "Stylus".	10 Ø

	Messiah	Turn a humanoid into a deity.	Give an ambrosia to any humanoid.	0 Ø
	Militant	Use 2 weapons and 1 weaponized vehicle.	Spawn Gun, SMG, and Tank.	10 Ø
	Miner 49er	Digging a massive hole.	Find a level with a large amount of diggable terrain (e.g. A3-8) and use a shovel or a pickaxe to dig a hole.	10 Ø
	Miser	Reach 300,000 Ollars total.	Save your ollars until you reach Ø 300,000. Interestingly, this Merit can only be earned once on a file, even if items are purchased or cheats are used to subtract money and subsequently get 300,000 again.	10 Ø
	New Object	Write a completely new item!	Spawn anything that hasn't previously been used in levels on that save file. Picking up, equipping, or wearing objects that were part of the original level, including starting a level in this state, will typically count as "summoning" an object. Objects are considered used even if a level wasn't completed.	10 Ø for each new object
	Novice Angler	Catch a fish with a fishing pole	Spawn a Fishing Pole and any fish and use the pole to catch the fish.	0 Ø
	No Weapons	Don't write a weapon to complete the level.		20 Ø

	Ornithologist	Write 2 or more birds.	Spawn two or more birds. Birds include, but are not limited to, robins, cardinals, mockingbirds, and wrens.	10 Ø
	Paleontologist	Write 2 or more dinosaurs.	Spawn dinosaurs, such as T-rex, dinosaur, and velociraptor.	10 Ø
	Pariah	Make 3 humanoids or animals flee.	Spawn a ghoul to scare humanoids or animals.	10 Ø
	Pi	Earn 314 Ollars in a single level.	This merit is unobtainable through normal means in the original release of the game.^{[note 2]} However, the merit was fixed in the Japanese release and in Scribblenauts Collection. A reliable method that works for any level without any humanoids/creatures in it (e.g. A1-1) is to get a Par of +5, using only objects you've previously summoned (being careful not to trigger any other Merits), and spend 1:33 in-game time in the level before touching the Starite. If done correctly, you should have 0 Par reward, 0 Style reward, and 314 Time reward.	0 Ø
	Picasso	Write 2 or more drawing tool objects.		10 Ø
	Pilot	Write 2 or more air vehicles.		10 Ø
	Prodigy	Complete a level 3 times in a row.	Do a level 3 times in a row in advanced mode.	10 Ø
	Pyromaniac	Set at least 4 objects on fire in a level.		10 Ø
	Reanimator	Bring a corpse back to life.	Use an Eel or Thunderstorm or any other electrical object on the Corpse.	10 Ø
	Roped In	Write 2 or more rope objects.	Write objects such as rope or vine (you can get the merit by only writing one, despite the description).	10 Ø
	Russian Doll	Place an object, inside an object, then inside an object.	Spawn 3 fillable objects and put them inside each other (e.g. box in a box in a box)	20 Ø
	Savior	Two or more humanoids or animals start and finish a level alive.	Beat the first puzzle level without killing anyone.	20 Ø

Trivia[]

The "Chauffeur" Merit has a typo in its description ("more then" instead of "more than"). The Fashion Designer also has a typo ("cloth" instead of "clothe").

Notes[]

↑ Several solutions online, dating back as far as the game's release, suggest wearing multiple pieces of armor or using a monster to weaken the knight before battle. However, Maxwell has enough health to take on the knight without dying, and the only impediment to the merit is the fact that Maxwell falls off a horse if attacked, unless the horse has a saddle.
↑ The common explanation is that the merit was originally tied to Style points, which are always a multiple of 5, although there is no tangible evidence of this (the textual description loaded into the game's memory does not change between the two English releases). Additionally, using a simple cheat that freezes the Style points value at 314 doesn't work.

Scribblenauts Unlimited[]

Scribblenauts Unlimited comes with 25 Steam Achievements. Many of these are automatically unlocked as the game progresses, and others will unlock as you explore the various features of the game.

These can be viewed on the Steam website, along with the current percentage of players who have accomplished each achievement.
