The Naked Mole Rat is a small, hairless rodent that inhabits arid environments in East Africa. It is one of the 2 only eusocial mammals, meaning it lives in large colonies dominated by a queen, much like social insects. It eats tubers, root-vegetables like onions, potatoes, carrots, and garlic. Large Mammal predators will eat it, but it does not fear them.
