The Necronomicon is a fictional book of arcane and forbidden knowledge whose contents can drive a person mad. |
Uses[]
This object shoots projectiles like a gun, but instead of shooting bullets, it shoots black magic that transforms creatures into skeleton warriors when it hits them.
Skeleton warriors, though usually evil, will protect wielders of the Necronomicon, but they will revert to hostility if the Necronomicon is dropped. This applies to skeleton warriors spawned from the Necronomicon and from the notebook.
Wizards will attack the wielder of a Necronomicon, or the Necronomicon itself if possible. Unlike most other magical objects, the Necronomicon turns into a skeleton warrior upon being destroyed, rather than a frog. Necromancers spawn equipping it.
In Scribblenauts Unlimited, if a player holding the Necronomicon taps their avatar and taps interact, they will summon someone with the “ghostly” adjective.

Trivia[]
- The Necronomicon first appeared in the novella The Dunwich Horror by H.P. Lovecraft, and has since appeared in several works in the Cthulhu Mythos.
- The face-like design on the cover is a reference to the Necronomicon’s design in the Evil Dead film series.
- Furthermore, the association with Skeleton Warriors is a more direct reference to the third film of the series, Army of Darkness.
