Trivia[]

  • In June 2020, AT&T (who had acquired Time Warner for $109 billion in 2018) announced that they were looking to sell Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the publisher and owner of the Scribblenauts series for $4 billion as a push from investors to consolidate and get rid of “non-core assets” in order to pay off debt.[8] While companies such as Take-Two Interactive, Electronic Arts (EA) and Activision Blizzard had expressed interest,[9] AT&T changed their minds three months later, stating that they now deemed the company too valuable to sell off. Factors in this decision are speculated to have included issues with licensed properties Warner Bros. Interactive had worked with in the past, a rise in game sales/players during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the then-upcoming release of Hogwarts Legacy, which had just been announced.[10]
  • In December 2018, a game titled Scribblenauts Fiesta was leaked in a list of Warner Bros. games from SAG's Production database site. It's unknown exactly what this was, as no game with that title ever released; however, it is possible that Fiesta could have been a code name for either Showdown or Mega Pack, as several names in the database were discovered to be codenames for already released Warner Bros. games, such as Batman: Arkham Knight.[11]
  • On April Fools Day 2013, a fake game was announced titled Maxwell Teaches Typing as a parody of educational typing programs from the 1990s/2000s.[12]
