Trivia[]
- Most of the DC variant covers were released on the 27th issue of those comic series; why this is the case is unknown.
- Jazzwares's replica Rooster Helmet and plush have a reddish-orange color, while Funko's Maxwell plush uses a more game-accurate dark shade of red. The reason for the color differences is unknown but could have been an intentional decision to help distinguish the products from each brand.
- Though not officially confirmed, a former 5TH Cell employee suggested that Lily and Doppleganger's figures were likely canceled because they weren't popular enough. They only became prominent characters in the later games and spin-off comic series, so their figures probably wouldn’t have sold as well as Maxwell’s.[1]
- An unoffical strategy guide for Scribblenauts Unlimited can be bought as an ebook on Amazon[2]
- The Jazzwares Rooster Hat replica is labeled as "Maxwells Hat" on the box for some reason.
- The Doppelganger and Lily figures were canceled seemingly late in production and/or last minute, as they are advertised on the boxes of all the other Jazwares Scribblenauts figures.
- The DC variant covers were created by a fan named Jon Katz, who originally did them just for fun. He was noticed by DC after a Scribblenauts re-creation of the Injustice: Gods Among Us box art, which they used for Unmasked's E3 booth. After being given some of the official art assets by 5TH Cell and making more Scribblenauts covers, he showed them to DC and they were repurposed as official variants for current comic runs.[3]
- Jon Katz also had an unspecified role in helping with the DC Collectables Unmasked figures.[3]
