Scribblenauts Unmasked: A Crisis of Imagination is a nine-issue comic series based on Scribblenauts Unmasked. The series was first published by DC Comics in December 2013 and ended in September 2014.[1] [2] A collected edition containing all nine issues and the previously digital-only A Battle Most Bizarre bonus comic was released in February 2015.
History[]
After selling a script for the Adventures of Superman anthology series to comic editor Alex Antone, writer Josh Elder was asked to pitch a comic that could be bundled with the Scribblenauts Unmasked video game, which eventually became Scribblenauts Unmasked - A Battle Most Bizzare.[3] After A Battle Most Bizzare, Elder was asked to pitch a followup miniseries, which became Scribblenauts Unmasked: A Crisis of Imagination.[3]
The first issue of A Crisis of Imagination was released in December 2013, with the series ending in September 2014.[1][2] In November 2014, Elder revealed on social media that he had some ideas for a potential sequel series; however, his pitch was never greenlit.[4] A collected edition featuring all nine issues and A Battle Most Bizzare was released in February 2015[5]
In April 2015, Elder expressed disappointment that the series was over, stating that he had found the comics a delightful challenge to write.[6]
