Scribblenauts Unmasked : A DC Comics Adventure is the latest installment in the Scribblenauts series, released in September 24 2013 on PC, Wii U and 3DS.

Recent press reports indicate that the game is being developed with a license from DC Comics, thanks to Warner Bros' publishing of the Scribblenauts series. It will apparently include supposedly almost every single character from the DC universe, with over 2000 DC objects including 33 different Batmans and over 130 Green Lanterns[1]. Maxwell will have to complete quests in DC locations such as Metropolis, Gotham City, Atlantis and more. A new type of puzzle, Heroic Feats, will continuously generate new adventures and puzzles in the various locations. Your reputation will increase when you solve puzzles.

At one point, Unmasked starred series hero Maxwell, and followed his adventures to aid various DC superheroes.

Missions

NOTE: The game is not out so we don't know all the missions. Here are some that have been told though:

One source describes a linear level beginning in the sewers beneath Wayne Manor where a hungry Killer Croc won’t let Max proceed. When a hamburger isn’t enough, a dynamite sandwich sends Croc into a rage leading to his arrest. Robin keeps the situation under control, allowing Max to make his way inside Wayne Manor (where Batman has been manipulated by The Joker) before discovering Batgirl’s capture in the Batcave.

In another situation, Max encounters two police officers, and must decipher which one is legit and which is actually Clayface. An X-ray exposes the villain, and when handcuffs fail to stop the sludge-monster, a freeze-gun does the trick.

Hero Creator

The Hero Creator is mode in Scribblenauts Unmasked and is a improved version of the Object Editor from Scribblenauts Unlimited. It allows players to create their own Superheroes or Villains by using other peices of Objects or just Objects that is in Scribblenauts Unmasked. For an example, you can use Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) as your Base Object, then you can delete his Head and Arms and replace them with Batman's Head and Arms, then color Batman's Mask Green and his Gloves Green, then just save the Object and name it something like: "Green Lantern Batman". You can also Share your Objects by Uploading them to Steam/Online. The Hero Creator has only been confirmed to be in the Wii U and PC version of game, while nothing about it has been said for the 3DS version.

New Features

  • 2000 DC objects included in game, as well as various DC locations.
  • Special Heroic Feat missions that generate new adventures and puzzles in each location.
  • Hero Creator to create super heroes and super villains and share them Online.
  • The Batcomputer, a item dictionary that shows items, characters, and etc. The item dictionary shows what each item does and related things to it.
  • On multiplayer the second player can play as their favorite super hero or villain.
