Sun

The Sun a large star in the sky that provides daylight. The Earth orbits around it, alongside all other planets in our solar system.

Appearance[]

The sun appears as a large yellow circle surrounded with spikes representing the Sun's rays.

The sprite was redesigned in Scribblenauts Showdown, with the most notable differince being the inclusion of several white spots representing solar activity. This redesign is later seen in the Scribblenauts Mega Pack version of Scribblenauts Unlimited, but strangely the original design is still used in the Mega Pack version of Scribblenauts Unmasked.

Behavior[]

The Sun can turn vampires into ash and werewolves or any object with the adjective Lycanthropic into human. It can also be used to grow various seeds and cook miscellaneous items.

Prior to Scribblenauts Unlimited, it was suspended by a string in the sky and would turn night into day. It could provides a small circle of light in dark places.

Starting in Scribblenauts Unlimited, the sun's light adds a yellow tint to a large area around it.

Trivia[]

  • The synonym "Sol" means "Sun" in multuple languages, specifically Aragonese, Asturian, Catalan, Chavacano, Danish, Extremaduran, Galician, Guinea-Bissau Creole, Interlingua, Lombard, Mirandese, Norwegian, Piedmontese, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and Volapük.
  • Starting in Scribblenauts Unlimited, the Sun's yellow tint effect is stacked if the player creates additional Suns. Depending on how many the player makes, this can quickly result in an extremely bright yellow glow that covers a large portions of the level.
  • The redesigned sprite for the sun is one of very few objects without a black outline, having a brown one instead.
    • As a result of this, the redesigned sprite can be made completely invisible with the "invisible" adjective, unlike most other objects.
  • A glitch occurs when using the sun as a stamp in Object Editor within the Scribblenauts Mega Pack version of Scribblenauts Unlimited. Once initially placed, the sun cannot be moved without using the undo button, and if the object is saved, the sun is permanently stuck, forcing players to remake the object entirely if they wish to remove it.
