The Tanuki is a folkloric Yōkai in the form of a Japanese Raccoon Dog. It's regarded as a shape-shifter and renowned for its enormous testicles, (which are not depicted in game.)

Behavior

They have 50 health points and their attack deals 20 of damage. They will protect people, including Maxwell. Despite being humanoid, the tanuki can be petted. When an object damages something under the tanuki's protection, it'll get the lucky adjective.

• While a regular Japanese Raccoon Dog is also known as a tanuki, the Tanuki in scribblenauts instead represents Bake-danuki, the shapeshifting Yōkai from Japanese folklore who commonly takes the form of a Japanese raccoon dog. The term "Tanuki" is commonly used to refer to Bake-danuki as well, so it remains correct.
• Tanuki appears in Scribblenauts Puzzle Level 9-6 and Remix Level 11-10.
• In Scribblenauts Beta, they had larger eyes.
• A plush of the tanuki was reportedly in development around 2012 by Jazwares however, the product was allegedly canceled early in development, with a sample later surfacing on eBay.
