The wisp (or will-o-wisp) is a mythical entity often associated with both western and Japanese graveyards. It can be killed using Holy Water and can be turned to stone. People are scared of it and will run away. This is associated with the legend of it being thought to be a person with a lantern (a person with a lantern usually would show travelers the safest route out of the swamp.) People have drowned in swamps trying to find this "person". It is actually scientifically caused by marsh gasses (mainly methane and other gasses) bubbling and reacting with the air causing a bright light.
